The Lord Is Present Everywhere

December 8, 2010 David WardHymns

A hymn on the omnipresence of God from the series of hymns titled “The Lord Is“

Lyrics

The Lord is present ev’rywhere, in all of His creation,
From heaven's glorious heights above unto the earth's foundation.
Distinct from His domain,
He cannot be contained,
Yet in it He remains
To care and to sustain;
None can escape His presence.

The Lord has come in Jesus Christ to grant His loving presence
To rebels who should only know His just and holy vengeance.
His love and wrath are shown
In Christ who died alone
That they, set free from fear,
In Him may now draw near
And dwell with God forever.

The Lord will be our dwelling place in ev'ry generation.
He sends His Spirit to indwell His own from ev'ry nation.
In grief and loneliness,
The Lord is near to bless;
No depth or height above
Can keep us from His love.
Come worship in His presence!
