Do You Love Me?

This song was born on a worship missions trip to Pakistan in 2024 from a message from John 21:15-17. Jesus calls Peter to love him more the disciples – really more than anyone – as he already has in Matthew 10:37. For believers, we can confidently yet dependently answer with Peter “You know Lord, I love you,” even though we know that love is imperfect and will falter because we are sinners. The song was written for non-English speakers with a simplicity in text and tune should serve to make it singable across generations and cultures.

Lyrics

Verse 1:
Do you love me more than anything?
You know, Lord- I love you.
Do you love me, Not what I give to you?
You know, Lord- I love you.

Chorus:
I love you, Jesus,
I love you, my Lord.
I love you, Jesus,
And I want to love you more.

Verse 2:
Do you love me more than family?
You know, Lord- I love you.
Do you love me more than ministry?
You know, Lord- I love you.
